What boosting is, and its relation to member count
Server boosting belongs to Discord’s own Nitro ecosystem and has nothing to do with member count. Users with a Nitro subscription can boost a server; accumulated boosts raise it through tiers, and each tier unlocks new features.
Knowing this distinction matters because the two metrics do not affect one another: boost count does not raise member count, and member count does not raise boost tier. They are separate service lines in the panel and priced independently.

Managing duration: holding the tier
Boosting is a time-limited service. A purchased boost stays on the server for a set period and drops when it expires; the server then falls a tier and the features tied to it switch off.
This is its most important difference from the member service and it affects planning directly. Members notice when features they had got used to disappear — custom emoji failing to work or audio quality dropping is a visible regression. The panel lists 1-month and 3-month options as separate lines, and longer packages lower the unit cost.

Boost services run off the invite link; a password, two-factor code or server admin access is never requested at any stage. Boosting is applied through Nitro accounts joining via your invite link.
